What is the ACT Matrix?

The Matrix is a seamless fusion of the six core processes of ACT into a simplified, easy-to-apply approach. Steven Hayes, co-developer of ACT, has recently stated:

* Recall the core concepts and history of ACT
* Explain the six core examples of psychological inflexibility
* Discuss the impact of psychological inflexibility on common clinical disorders
* Understand the six core processes of psychological flexibility in ACT
* Explain the benefits of using the Matrix when doing ACT
* Apply the six core ACT processes with clients experiencing common clinical disorders
* Determine appropriate ACT metaphors to use with clients
* Use the ACT Matrix with clients
