ACBS Southern California Chapter Award/ Grant

On August 28, 2026, the ACBS Southern California Chapter hosted peer-reviewed ACT trainer Lou Lasprugato, MFT, for  a live virtual workshop, “InterACT with Couples: Yearnings and Interpersonal Flexibility.”  The workshop brought together 35 clinicians and students to examine how ACT core processes can be effectively applied to dyadic and intimate partner dynamics. Attendees explored practical frameworks for case conceptualization, engaged in experiential exercises, and analyzed how core psychological "yearnings" shape patterns of interaction and conflict in relationships.

Thanks to the support of an ACBS chapter grant, we were able to deliver high-standard professional training while keeping registration affordable and accessible for our community and student members. The enthusiastic turnout and rich discussions highlighted the strong appetite for accessible, community-driven CBS continuing education. We extend our heartfelt thanks to ACBS and Lou for supporting our chapter’s mission and making this meaningful training accessible to our community!
