Mission/Objectives

The mission of the Middle Eastern ACBS shall be to foster the development of functional contextual cognitive and behavioral science and practice within the Middle East and North Africa region so as to alleviate human suffering and advance human well-being. Also, to produce a certified and skilled treatment that meets the needs of Middle Eastern and North African communities and populations, by applying ACT protocols in a cost effective and in a safe way.

Objectives:

• To Establish Middle Eastern ACBS website.
• To Disseminate Contextual Behavior Science CBS principles among health professionals and other related professions.
• Providing a forum for behavior therapists to share information and resources
• Developing awareness activities designed to highlight the need for ACT therapist.
• To disseminate ACBS values in this region.
• To utilize from Islam and the Middle Eastern traditions into ACT’s metaphors and protocols.
• To translate books of ACT and contextual behavior sciences to Arabic and Turkish languages.

Chapter Activities

In general the activities shall include:  annual reporting, creation of a forum for discussion, workshops, publications, translation, establishment of centers, consultations, etc.

Description of Membership

Any person speaks Arabic language or Turkish language can be a member of Middle Eastern ACBS chapter. Therefore, psychologist, psychiatrist, behavior therapist, and any other related aspects. As an affiliate member, professional member, or student member.
