ACT/CBS Background and Training: In 2003 I began work in Kelly Wilson's research lab as an undergraduate student at Ole Miss. I learned about ACT and RFT there, and went on to work on several RFT projects and an ACT clinical trial at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the Behavior Analysis program under Doug Woods. I earned a PhD under Amy Murrell at the University of North Texas. I worked in the ACT/RFT and functional contextual science with Kevin Polk at VA Maine. I served as a full time clinician at the Sioux Falls VAMC in pain management using ACT in the pain clinic from 2016-2021. I served as the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN23) Pain Management, Opioid Safety, and Prescription Drug Monitoring Coordinator and provided about 1 day per week of clinical care in pain clinic. I’m currently working in private practice.
